I'm Sure You Have Heard This...

“You have to pay money to get started?

That is a scam. Any time you have to pay to

work for a company... that’s not legit!!!

Here’s my answer to that: First off, there’s a difference between getting a JOB and starting a BUSINESS.  Any business you’ll start, from your own idea to buying a franchise, you spend a fortune to start it.  Secondly, let’s talk jobs. Even if you were getting a new job, you spend money.  For example, getting a license to sell real estate, buying a new suit or uniform, drug testing, or even daily gas money to get to/from work. Hmm, those jobs must be scams.

So anyone who has an issue with paying a startup investment to start a business is just lacking perspective. They were never taught in school how to be an entrepreneur, or to think like one. They might not know anyone in their family who has ever started a business. (Or maybe they do, but that person lost money in that business, causing them to think badly about becoming a business owner). So they just don’t have a basis to understand. Especially with their frame of reference being a typical franchise costing over $300,000 to start. So when you tell them about a business they can start for say $200, they think it’s a sale/purchase, or a scam.  That can’t SEE it as an actual business. “They’re just trying to take your money.” Little do they know, they are most likely spending money out of their pocket for different things just to have a job working for someone who decided to start their own business. I paid almost $900 to get a real estate license, which allowed me the right to have a JOB selling houses, and that was no guarantee that I’d ever see a dime from it. If I didn’t go out and hustle to sell a house, that “scam” license fee would never have amounted to any income. See how crazy that sounds?  It’s not a scam to get into real estate, it’s an opportunity you get out of it what you put in. Same thing with a home-based marketing business.  It costs very little to start, but once you do, you now own your own business.  You decide how much you want to earn by building it.

You WILL hear someone who truly believes starting a business is a scam.  Their value system and programming has aligned their beliefs with having a secure job as the right thing to do.  “Play it safe, work hard every day for a good boss, do as you’re told, collect that paycheck and benefits, and you’ll be all right.”

Really? That sure as heck isn’t how I want to live the one life I’ve been given.  I’m doing something for me, that I control, and that has light at the end of the tunnel.  I am going to build my own business and call my own shots.  If someone else likes to be employed by others, that’s great for them, to each his own.  I listened to Jim Rohn who taught, “You work hard all day at a job earning a living, and you should work part time in the evenings building your fortune.”  I am so glad I was open to receiving that advice, as it served me very well and I will never work for another man or woman again in my life.  I create jobs, I don’t live inside of one.  This guy isn’t living in a box someone else wants me in.  That box is the “scam” if there is such a thing.

So when someone has a hard time grasping why they need to pay to get started in your business, just understand that they don’t hold this belief in contempt of you.  They simply don’t understand the difference between having a job and starting a business of their own.  And they don’t realize that they spend far more money BEING an employee for someone else.  You can try to explain this concept to them, or just move on to someone who has an easier time coming to this realization. The “gig economy” and the new “small entrepreneur economy” are the new way.  Eventually, it will be common sense to everyone.

Winning Habits of Today’s Successful
Business People.

Everyone has the potential to be successful. In fact, one main thing that separates a successful person from the others is their ability to make smart decisions. However, changing the way you approach challenges and tackle life in general can also give you a better chance of achieving your goals.

Highly successful people have several things in common and by studying their habits, you can go a long way to emulating their success. Read on to discover some of the habits of today’s highly successful people in the world of business:

Intelligent networking
Everyone has heard of networking and we have probably all done it ourselves. What some people may not realize is that there are certain ways of networking that are more successful than others. In the business world, the best type of networking is carefully balancing your personal relationships with your corporate interests.

Highly successful people don’t overdo it. This means not overwhelming new contacts with too many business concerns, as this can have a negative effect. It’s also important to network quietly – making no secret of the fact that you’re networking far and wide will reduce your ability to form meaningful business connections; since contacts may believe you’re just using them to further your own ends.

Taking new opportunities
Be sure to approach new opportunities reverentially. Never be over confident and don’t brag about them. Exercise humility because if things go wrong or don’t materialize, you can be left looking like a fool!

If you do achieve new heights of success, never look disparagingly on your previous positions. This is particularly the case in network marketing: if you let your ego run riot, you can alienate others on your team, who may still be at a level that you have now surpassed. Just about everyone starts out small… so never forget your own beginnings.

Conquering challenges
Highly successful people deal with challenges modestly and quietly – never give away too many details of any challenges you’re facing, as not only could it give competitors the edge, it could also make you appear stressed out and this can make you appear less capable. When you work in network marketing, this could make your own team lose confidence in your abilities, making them feel less motivated to succeed.

Considering ideas
Successful people think carefully before they take the plunge with any new idea. Even if the venture seems fool proof and like it can’t fail, don’t rush headlong into anything before considering the repercussions carefully – and refining the concept if necessary.
If you’re hatching a plan and you’re too public with your business dealings before it’s fully formed, it’s also easy for competitors to steal and refine your ideas. Remain quiet about any plans until you’re ready to put them into practice.

Interacting socially
Much like everything else, interacting socially is another thing that highly successful people do quietly. They will never flaunt their accomplishments at social gatherings, as this can make them seem arrogant to potential contacts. Treat everyone as equals and don’t try to impress people with name dropping or bragging, as this could deter potential contacts from wishing to get to know you better.

Treating others with respect
Highly successful people treat people ethically and respectfully. Always behave professionally and if you need to communicate personal information with someone, always do so in private to avoid any potentially embarrassing situations. This  is particularly important in network marketing . You need to earn the respect of your team so that they will feel inspired and follow your leadership. Setting a good example by treating everyone with respect is paramount. Always lead from the front!

Unwinding properly
In order to be successful, it’s important not to overdo it – meaning that you need to unwind properly
at the end of the working day. Put your phone on silent, turn off your social media feeds and emails and relax at night.

Science shows that if we're lying in bed staring at a bright screen, this prevents the release of chemicals in our brain that help us to sleep, as we’re “tricked” into thinking it’s daytime. You need a good night’s sleep to wake up fresh for the next day’s challenges, so put the mobile device away, turn out the light and enjoy the silence.
Simply changing your lifestyle and adopting good habits can help you to emulate the success of the highest achievers in your field. This will soon become a way of life, rather than something you’re consciously having to think about.

Quotes To Live By

Inspirational personal development quotes

Quotes from iconic figures in their industry can express profound truths in a way that makes people think deeply about the sentiments – a good quote can make you stop to take in the wisdom that has been expressed so eloquently. Such quotes can inspire you to change your life.
Read on to discover some of the most inspirational personal development quotes from well-known figures that can help you develop as a person and can assist you in your quest to improve your business acumen.

1. Microsoft founder, Bill Gates – billionaire, entrepreneur and philanthropist: “Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.”

You may see it as a negative factor when a customer expresses extreme dissatisfaction with your product or service but in truth, it can teach you where you’re going wrong. Never dismiss a complaint without consideration. Instead, think about what has been said and where the problem lies. This helps you to rectify the issue and learn not to make the same mistake again.

2. Avon founder, David H McConnell: “Be courageous and seek change.”

David H McConnell, born in 1858, started out as a salesman in 1879. Originally selling books, he began manufacturing his own perfumes and started selling them door-to-door… the rest, as they say, is history. In the late 19th century women generally didn’t have careers, with only one in five working outside the home. As an intrepid salesman, Mr McConnell challenged the norm and invented the Avon representative, encouraging women to have their own career. His vision is still a global success to this day.

3. Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist, Viktor E Frankl, author of Man’s Search for Meaning: “When we’re no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”

This means that sometimes in life it’s impossible to change what someone else does or how they behave; you can’t make people assist in situations to aid your own personal direction and development. Hence, if you have a problem with something, you must take a step back and look at yourself because that’s the only thing you have the power to change.

4. Leader of the Indian independence movement, Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the change you want to see in this world.”

Gandhi was calling for people to take full responsibility for their own lives. Practice what you preach. In order to see changes in the world, we must actively do something ourselves – complaining, theorising or criticising isn’t enough. We must take responsibility for ourselves and our environment, invoking the positive change that we desire.

5. Spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama: “In our struggle for freedom, truth is the only weapon we possess.”

In order to be truly free, you must stay true to yourself. The truth isn’t always comfortable but it’s the way to make progress as a person. Ask yourself whether recent decisions, current situations and future long term goals are actually what you want in life. Don’t rationalize. Instead, be conscious of your first, instinctual answer.

6. American author, entrepreneur, publisher and lecturer, Mark Twain, speaking about how you will feel in the future, 20 years from now: “You’ll be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the things you did.”

This quote encourages you to seize the day, to be courageous and to take up those opportunities that thrust you into the unknown. Don’t be afraid of doing things just because you don’t know how it will turn out. Stop thinking, “maybe another time,” because it seems a more comfortable option. Instead, take a chance to see where it leads.

Guiding principles such as these remain true, not only for any successful business venture but also for the shaping of our lives – they inspire us to become better.

Meet TriForce Johnson, E-Sports Visionary!

His name is Isaiah TriForce Johnson and he is the CEO of Empire Arcadia, an E-Sports  team which he founded. Known simply as TriForce, he is sharp, quick and self-assured, Mr. Johnson pulls no punches in expressing his vision. Gentle and disarming at first but as I soon found out, this man is clear and aggressive in pursuing his vision. Our conversation opened my eyes to the place E-Sports is carving in history.

I have no doubt that he is going places and I am glad to have met him. Follow me as I share with you how I met this force and why I must share this pioneer with my readers.

On humid days in New York, I usually seek refuge in a local coffee shop. On such days, quenching my thirst with cold liquid and an air-conditioned space is of ultimate importance because the warm blanket of heat is suffocating.

Here I was, eagerly walking into a Bronx coffee shop armed with a lap top and a cell phone, ready to go to war. I had no idea, what awaited in the air-conditioned oasis behind the glass doors. The usual scene, students, couples and a diverse sprinkling of java lovers littered the area. The grinding (of coffee) was loud and punctuated the Elvin Jones tune coming through the speakers, with a cadence unique as new improvisation.

In the corner, was this thin, neatly dressed man with two lap tops and a set of headphones perched like an orange crown on his locks. He was focused but would interject politely into the conversation happening between the two middle aged men sitting next to him. I am always fascinated by articulate folks who are clear and sharp in their expression. However, his voice rang with a riddim of familiarity.

There was mutual introduction and then the question: "What do you do?". I am a leader in E-Sports, he said. "My name is TriForce", he said. I told him that I had heard his name and voice in my home. He looked at me with a puzzled face, until I explained that my sons are E-Sports enthusiasts and the competitions are streamed live and loud whenever our son is visiting.

I called my son (the one who is away) and he could not believe whom I had just met. I introduced them over the phone and continued to chat.

I decided to meet Mr. Johnson again and share his journey with the readers of The George Project. Here is Mr. Johnson, telling his story, like no one else can. So read, watch and listen to someone whom I think is inspirational, poised and pioneering an area that is literally a booming frontier.
